[Adopt Your Spot NYC](https://www.sanitationfoundation.org/adopt-your-spot-nyc) is a program where New Yorkers sign up to “adopt” their favorite spot in their community and help keep it clean, and get mailed a free starter kit containing a trash grabber, gloves, and trash bags.
Using publicly available data, I try to answer the following questions:
– What kinds of spots do people adopt?
– Why were these spots selected?
– Which neighborhoods have the most participants?
– Can I get more people to sign up by posting on social media?
