[OC] Adopt Your Spot: Visualizing Participation and Growth of a NYC Community Cleanup Program

  1. [Adopt Your Spot NYC](https://www.sanitationfoundation.org/adopt-your-spot-nyc) is a program where New Yorkers sign up to “adopt” their favorite spot in their community and help keep it clean, and get mailed a free starter kit containing a trash grabber, gloves, and trash bags.

    Using publicly available data, I try to answer the following questions:
    – What kinds of spots do people adopt?
    – Why were these spots selected?
    – Which neighborhoods have the most participants?
    – Can I get more people to sign up by posting on social media?
