It was likewise not given for Panama to charge the United States, its Navy, and corporations, doing business within our Country, exorbitant prices and rates of passage,” Trump added. “Our Navy and Commerce have been treated in a very unfair and injudicious way. The fees being charged by Panama are ridiculous, especially knowing the extraordinary generosity that has been bestowed to Panama by the U.S. This complete ‘rip-off’ of our Country will immediately stop.”

    > In a separate post, Trump said the U.S. “has a vested interest in the secure, efficient, and reliable operation of the Panama Canal, and that was always understood.”

    > “We would and will NEVER let it fall into the wrong hands! It was not given for the benefit of others, but merely as a token of cooperation with us and Panama,” Trump then added. “If the principles, both moral and legal, of this magnanimous gesture of giving are not followed, then we will demand that the Panama Canal be returned to us, in full, and without question. To the Officials of Panama, please be guided accordingly!”

    Edit: I don’t watch it anymore so I have to ask, is mainstream media eating all this up? World news asking “experts” if this is possible? If I were a gambler, I’d be betting they are.

  14. This is Trumps playback. He does not want to govern He Wants To Cause CHAOS. This is his way of stealing in the meantime while making waves causing massive wakes everywhere he goes. The destruction he is doing now is just the slightest of appetizer of what he will destroy when he takes charge. Trump is worse now because he is flat-out insane or crazy if you prefer. Trump should not be allowed to take charge of this country.
    This stock market will be coming down, and with this uncertainty, people will not spend, so by Christmas 2025, the word recession will be heard everywhere. Store closings and layoffs will be coming at an accelerating rate.
    Civil unrest will be the next step, so 2026…guess.

  26. Since he is not in office yet, and until he is sworn in, he is still a private citizen. Doesn’t that mean he’s broken this law:

    18 U.S. Code § 953 – Private correspondence with foreign governments

    Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

    This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply, himself or his agent, to any foreign government or the agents thereof for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects.

  40. Serious question: I have read that a lot of new ships are too big and don’t fit in the Panama Canal. If that’s so, isn’t Trump just five steps too late again?
