I live in Wigan, it’s still a bit shady now regarding details but this is really really shocking if the worst fears are true (a bomb making factory). It may get slandered but it’s actually quite a small and quiet little town. We have no issues with gangs and very rarely have the most serious crimes that break the news. Something like this, if true, will really shake the people who live here and will no doubt increase ignorant hate crimes if those arrested aren’t white and british.
I know that these days this use is generally considered acceptable, but whenever I see a headline like this I always have to think about it, wonder what the chemicals were suspicious of, then realise it means that the chemicals themselves were suspect.
I wish I were better at drawing since I’d love to draw a newspaper-style cartoon of a giant chemical looking around with suspicion. A bit like the Oatmeal [sneak peak](https://theoatmeal.com/comics/sneak_peek).
