Yes, thanks to the inner-German rivalry from the Fifties to the Eighties and mainly the GDR with state-sanctioned, systematic doping. Not that there wasn’t doping in the West back then.
Why can’t sports be what sports are supposed to be — entertaining contests of skill, strength and stamina, and not these dispiriting shows of corruption and acts of actual bodily harm inflicted on teenagers by their trainers just so that we can boast about how many glorified coins our country managed to collect?
And half of them in bobsleading…. and i say heyheyheyheyheyyyyyy
