  1. but how is poor apple going to trap you in their ecosystem then

  2. This is kind of ridiculous that they’d think they need to intervene like this… For airdrop?!

  3. They also want world peace, the end of hunger and more rainbows

  4. ok now it’s getting stupid. No one, absolutely no one, AirDrops shit to strangers, that’s for your own devices which are often from the same brand

  5. I mean, that would be awesome actually. Always a pain to send stuff to other phones. Especially photos and videos in full quality

  6. EU is in a big political disaster and wastes its time with these bullshits

  7. I’m okay with this as long as they make it a standard and android has to comply with it to use it, but if they’re forcing Apple to do it the other way around then it’s just stupid.

Also, I really don’t care if they open AirPlay I’d just like to be able to use casting natively instead. AirPlay is fucking ass compared to Spotify connect or casting.

  8. “But my closed ecosystem! Now what excuse will I give to continue buying Apple?”

  9. Apple: **Sure thing, buddy!** **Proceeds to throttle the transfer speed to 4KB/s**

  10. Another huge EU win if it passes, despite narrative which corporate shills are trying to push.

I don’t really care about AirPlay. But it’s ridiculous that in 2025 almost we still need to rely on external services (which is threat to security / privacy) to do the most basic thing ever – share files. I hope Google/Samsung Qucik Share gets exactly the same treatment so the field stays level.

It’s gonna be exactly like with USB-C. A lot of pointless noise to the tune “EU bad, over-regulation!”, and after a while NO ONE will complain, because it will be literally better for EVERYONE, while doing ZERO harm to Apple/Google.

  11. Something that should have been a thing a long time ago already

  12. Apple strikes back:

“ Accepted on condition: Apple wants EU open borders to non-eu member eu countries.

  13. How did we reach the point where people simp for the faceless multi trillion dollar conglomerate over common sense and consumer protections?

  14. FINALY. What the fck is a free market advantage ?!! 🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺 (anybody know what our animal is supposed to be? Is it an eagle? A lion?)

  15. Finally. I want to share pics from my Galaxy to my wife’s Iphone without forcing her to install extra software just for that.

Airdrop is inferior product compared to competitors but Apple gates his customers and forces families to not enjoy their memories.

  16. I think there is already an open source implementation of Airplay tho? I have it running on a raspberry pi just fine

  17. LOL no wonder the most innovate product came out of EU in the last 20 years is to force “d you accept these cookies” on every webpage.

The over regulation is why the technology and future innovation is coming out of US and China.

  18. Are you Europeans happy with these demands? Like isn’t bullshit like this the reason you guys don’t have Apple intelligence? Not that you guys are missing much of anything.

So how does this work? anytime the EU likes features that’s on iOS They’re going to force Apple to make them compatible with android…. what ?

  19. Airdrop is utter dogshite. Believe me, you don’t want it.

  20. being able to use airdrop regardless of the devices you’re using would be awesome. I’m already an apple user (macbook), yet I cant use it officially (theres third-party apps for that) with my android device.

  21. To be honest I would not be comfortable with this. Apple can’t use their tuned AI service unless they open it to everyone. AirDrop is masterful because it works. Reason why I don’t use android is I know stuff will work between apple devices. And it works so good. Like where is a line between fair fight between companies and absolutely throttling progress because everything has to be open.
