John Adams quite famously was not at Jefferson’s inauguration. On the day of the inauguration, he was already halfway back to Massachusetts. He barely even bothered to tell anyone he was leaving.
I’m pretty sure Lincoln didn’t show his face at Johnson’s, if there was one.

Biden being there is going to make trump look so foolish for not going to Biden’s. Looking foolish does come naturally to trump though.

Four previous presidents, plus Trump, did not attend the inauguration of the next President: John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Martin Van Buren, and Andrew Johnson.
