Why is it saying it’s a two minute walk from Piccadilly circus to Charing Cross on google maps? Its just tricked me into making an impossible journey ?

Shh everyone, don’t tell him about the shortcut
It’s technically 2 mins on the bakerloo line if that helps…
There is a shortcut
Get the Bakerloo line one stop
Get off at Leicester Square and go one stop to charring cross. Or take Bakerloo from Piccadilly to charring cross.
Same to me yesterday, 23 stops, 5min journey. Wtf Google.
What’s impossible about it or have you missed your southeastern train?
If you intend to commute daily using public transport, I would recommend using Citymapper instead of google maps. It will take you a couple days to get used to the difference but it’s worth it. It’s timings are also accurate (at least for me) will usually recommend better routes than maps.
Took me way too long to realize I should’ve stopped using google maps in this city.
Since the update google map’s been terrible. It also now miscalculates the distances… (btw I got the exact same bug on the exact same journey)
It’s more like 5 minutes from the circus got through Leicester sq towards leaving st to the low end of charring cross road towards duncannon street then cross the strand towards charring cross station
I thought it was just me that was happening to!
Thanks for the reminder- I kept meaning to report it to Google but hadn’t got to it while rushing the ~11 minutes platform to platform. Have done now. Maybe you should too, just so it gets flagged by a few people.
Are you using the “reduce walking” option? There are other connections from T5 that overlap with the second train you’re taking (I don’t know your destination though).
Apparantly a change from Moorgate to Loverpool St is 3 minutes and all.
