    If you’re expecting a European style democracy I’ll laugh. A stable Syria and A ONE THAT DOESN’T KILL THEIR OWN PEOPLE, is more preferred.

  4. Why does Israel think they should get a say in this?

    Edit: Syria is sovereign. It’s not clear what they mean, if they just mean no independent islamist militias, that’s understandable. If they mean the new government can’t be islamist, that’s not. They need to stop bombing Syria at some point.

  10. Look I know technically this guy is a jihadist but so far he is saying and doing the right things. It’s early days yet, but Israel shouldn’t be picking a fight pointlessly with a potential partner against Iran

  13. There is no Jihadist presence in southern Syria, though. That area is literally under the control of American-backed secularists (the Southern Operations Room and the Revolutionary Commando Army, the latter of which literally operates out of a US military base). ISIS and similar radical Islamist rebel factions only really operate in the east, and even then only as what amounts to a few sleeper cells and roving bands of terrorists – they don’t hold any territory and have zero popular support.

    This is some “we’re just here to denazify Ukraine”-tier bullshit. I usually support Israel, but this is way too far.

  17. I feel like whenever a government starts using the word “jihad”, it’s because, if they called-them “religious extremists” or “genocidal assholes”, we wouldn’t know which side they were talking about.
