Last week, HM The King and HM The Queen granted their second set of Royal Warrants of Appointment – three leading beauty companies can now boast the Royal Arms
Queen Camilla’s colourist, the oldest manufacturer of hair brushes, and the creator of the iconic bee venom skincare range were awarded Royal Warrants for supplying the Royal Family.
The three were among 386 companies drawn from those previously holding a single Royal Warrant of Appointment to Queen Elizabeth II, together with 7 companies with an established and ongoing trading relationship with HM Queen Camilla.
The recognition allows a company to use the Royal Arms in connection with its business in an appointed trading capacity. It is awarded to a wide cross-section of trade and industry, from individual craftspeople to global multi-nationals.
Below are three leading beauty names that have received the Royal stamp of approval:
Jo Hansford
The Mayfair hairdresser has been styling The Queen’s hair for more than three decades alongside the likes of Adele, Angelina Jolie, Elizabeth Hurley and Sienna Miller. Featuring in The Standard last year, the article reads: ‘(it’s about) trust in skill and trust that the tales told while in the sanctity of the hairdresser’s chair remain there.’
On her Royal Warrant, Hansford said: ‘I think it is particularly wonderful that the Queen has awarded it to an all-female owned and run business. It shows that with grit and determination, you can achieve truly incredible things.’
Kent Brushes
Founded in 1777, the brushmakers pre-date trains, bicycles and even Big Ben. What’s more, the heritage company has been serving the Royal Household for ten consecutive reigns.
