Put it this way you are either going to pay for utility infrastructure and carbon reduction by paying taxes or by sticking with the carbon reduction act and inflation reduction act and having a choice with a lower cost bill which would you rather pay?
Option A or Option B see images below:

A lower cost bill or taxes with no choice for a lower cost bill?

The carbon reduction act and inflation reduction act are the only solution to demand and infrastructure upgrades.

Our utility infrastructure is the oldest around in the world it needs upgrades no matter what even without the carbon reduction act who wants to pay extra cash out of pocket for that? Not me for sure!

Why not just install more solar reduce demand for natural gas and save people money short term and long term?

  1. For anybody reading this please please please do not call this guy. In his screenshot he is using 5-7% inflation on one sheet. 12% increase in another. The average over the last 30 years is 2% (3% in cali).

If somebody is artificially increasing these numbers to make his math look better, why would you trust them with a major financial purchase.

  2. All of this is fine and dandy until the government realizes they are losing income on taxes paid by electric providers and consumers and then come up with new taxes.
