During the working visit of President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko to the Sultanate of Oman last week, an excursion to the National Museum of this state was organised for the Belarusian leader, and the tour was conducted by the museum’s Secretary General, Jamal bin Hassan Al-Moosawi, whose mother is a native of Belarus.

In his talk with the Belarusian reporters, Jamal bin Hassan Al-Moosawi said in perfect Russian, “We have much in common. If we take the Slutsk sashes, for example, as a cultural expression of a certain historical epoch of Belarus, then we [people of the Sultanate of Oman] have similar sashes, and we still wear them. The same refers to daggers: historically, they were owned by the nobility in Belarus, being a part of men’s clothing.”

“We have much in common in terms of mentality, attitude towards family values, and love for our land,” he added.
