It’s Monday! Rather strangely, it may be a Monday off if you’ve been skilful with your holidays. So you’re probably stood looking like a lemon, like yours truly.
It is of course Christmas Eve tomorrow, so light the lamp and not the rat, come on in and have a chat!

Don’t have today off, but do now after spending all night very, very unwell. The kinda unwell you don’t include too many details on.
I think my plans for how I’ll be spending Christmas have just changed significantly…!
I have a form of cold, luckily not as bad as some. Still feel like shit though and finish tomorrow at 1pm I think, if I remember correctly.
I’m awake early so just watching Nativity 2. I’ve only seen the first one before but I’m liking the sequel so far.
I’m just up, no dog walking duty this morning! I’m just going to shower, come round a bit and then proceed to eat chocolate for breakfast (happy birthday to me!).
Not sure what we’re doing the rest of the day, but steak for tea!
I’ve been awake since 5am. Because of my work schedule, and being so used to getting up at a frankly rather silly time, I find it difficult to adjust to having a lie in when I’m on holiday.
Drinks at Spoons with work colleagues today, followed by a spot of last-minute food shopping. I really don’t want to be out in the crowds on Christmas Eve if I can help it.
Went to Booths to pick up a chicken at the crack of dawn (a fraction of the cost of a turkey). Working today and then I’m off to Aldi to do the rest of the xmas shopping. It should be a relaxed day if no websites decide to shit the bed.
Tired and irritable, and the annoying colleague is back today. We’ve had two drama free weeks, let’s see how long it is until some starts.
Need to pick up my Christmas ham before work, and go to the bank and pharmacy at lunch. Busy day.
Stuck in the office, unfortunately. Just for today though and then back in on 2nd Jan. Wondering how I’m going to pass the time…
Last bits of work before being able to properly get into the festive spirit.
I work in a school, so not back until the 6th, yay. I got up at 6 (which counts as a lay in for me) to walk across the road to my local tesco to secure the turkey and pigs in blankets, you know, the essentials. So other than giving the house a tidy and a sneaky nap somewhere, I’m set for the day already.
Just with the way my shifts work I’m off for now (I work Wednesday – Saturday, so I get quite a few days off!).
I do need to go shopping today though, so fingers crossed. Never made my own Christmas dinner before / for my wife but I’m a (used to be?) Chef so should be fine, right…? Just need to master my temperamental oven.

Going for a walk with a friend before work, currently eating smoked salmon and scrambled egg.

We have ‘breakfast with father christmas’ this morning at a pub with my family, this is a trade off so that we can spend Christmas day alone. My littlest will love it. We will endure it. At the moment we’re in bed with a coffee and a cat each. Have a good one all 👋
Last working day of 2024 for me! Huzzah! I’m also the only one in, on a change freeze and not allowed to even access any client sites… all this translates to a day of films and mouse wiggling!

(Also watched The Muppets Christmas Carol last night and cried like a baby, my yearly tradition.)
Up early as the cleaner is coming at 9 and I’ve just stripped and washed the first lot of bedding!
Hairdresser has just bailed on family’s appointment this afternoon (🙄) who we were also having tea with as she’s also my best mate. Now need to find a shop for something for tea.
Picking my friend up at 10.30 and bringing her for brunch and a catchup with a few mimosas and cocktails.
The day is mine today ❤️
