Elon Musk’s Threat to Primary Democrats Spurs New Urgency to Ban Super PACs

  1. *Citizens United* is among the worst decisions to ever come out of the Supreme Court. Corporations are *not* people and unlimited money is *not* speech. The damage this crooked decision has inflicted on our democracy is immeasurable.

  2. Funding of political candidates should be standardized and funding from private sources of all kinds made highly criminal. Lobbying while we’re at it. And ‘gifts’ to judges.

  3. A private citizen threatening elected government officials. This is what fascism looks like.

  4. Felon Musk isn’t that bright. We could use this to our advantage. We just need a group of progressives to get on Felons good side long enough to take the place of the Pelosi puppets.

Then they all vote against super PACs and kick his arse out of government forever.

Time to sneak in some sheep in wolves clothing

  5. The Washington Post alleges that in 1995, Musk was admitted to Stanford University’s graduate school but didn’t enroll in classes. He instead used the student visa to stay in the U.S. and work on what would eventually become Zip2, Musk’s online business directory. The Post also alleges that in 1996, investors made a funding agreement contingent on Musk obtaining permission to work in the U.S. within 45 days. Zip2 board member Derek Proudian told the newspaper that Musk’s immigration status was “not what it should be.”

Rule of law… Law and order… right? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Charge musk with immigration violations, seize his assets, and deport him immediately.

  6. If Democrats had worked with progressives to address this at any time in the last 15 years then we wouldn’t be here.

  7. As a democrat, why would you want funding from Musk in a primary? That instantly gets a target on your back. People would immediately accuse you of being MAGA in sheep’s clothing, and once you get elected you would immediately change parties.

  8. It is illegal for Government Contractors to threaten Government Employees. If he wants to continue this end his government contracts. Accountability shouldn’t be this hard for democrats.

  9. Banning superPACs can’t come until Republicans are powerless to prevent it. For that we need smarter voters on our side,.

  10. I get the worry (especially the super PACs), but I feel like saying “My opponent is supported by Elon Musk” is going to be pretty damaging at least in Dem primaries

  11. Break up the grift while the grifters are in charge. Yeah that’s not how it will work. They’ll make it easier to grift, blame “liberals” and since 80m people just take FoxNews as gospel, they’ll be mad at brown people instead of the wolves and leopards eating their faces and their pocket books. USA is going to look exactly like Russia in a decade or less.

  12. He is just…so fucking UGLY. I want to fucking projectile PUKE everytime his cartoonishly angled alabaster head appears on my screen. BONE UGLY FREAK. The day Elon drops dead will be a day for the entire world to celebrate in the streets.

  13. The democrats would be effected the most they got the most super pacs

  14. I know he’s far too much of a coward to actually follow through with it, but I wish this dude would fight Zuckerberg like he talks about. I don’t like Zuck, but watching Elon get his ass beaten by a dude that actually trains to fight would be so satisfying.

  15. If Elon’s behavior gets US to pass a law overturning the citizen’s united ruling, then he might just be the main person responsible for saving our democracy.

  16. lol how is this even a threat? The second any democratic primary voter hears the words *Elon Musk-funded “moderate” democrat* they’re gonna throw up in their mouths just a little bit

  17. Many of those Soros conspiracy theorists are really quiet on this one.

  18. I mean, yeah, should’ve happened ages ago, buuuuuuuut just one tiny little problem:

Dems have super PACs too and banning them thus would reduce their own money so the chances of the establishment democrats around pelosi and all the other rhinos seriously trying to ban them?

    Big. Fat. Zero.

  19. Like..who does he think is going to come out of those primaries? I feel like the answer is more anti corporate and more liberal people.
Is the fantasy that they’ll move so far left that they won’t get elected?

I wish we could get past “being born rich makes you smart” the only thing it makes you is rich.

  20. AIPAC does the same thing. Why should I care now that it’s Elon’s superPAC.

  21. If this is how we get money out of politics, I’m here for it.

  22. The fact that a government official, who has already purchased the Presidency, is publicly threatening to purchase positions out from underneath his political adversaries, tells you all you need to know about the status of the USA. People voted for this, they haven’t even begun to see how bad this is going to get for the 99% that aren’t billionaires, whether they voted for it or not

  23. Bestie if Elon musk donates money to a candidate what left leaning voter is going to go anywhere near them kek

  24. What’s he gonna do? Attack every elected Dem? Good luck lol

  25. Citizens United tells us the goal of the Founding Fathers was for kings to buy their politicians, rather than being them.

  26. Don’t ban them. Pass a tax bill that says all political organizations pay a tax of 95% of donations received including any donations in kind (e.g. tax on the value of a celeb endorsement). And consider adding to such a tax bill that religious organizations are no longer tax exempt.

  27. Yeah. Good luck with that. Too little, too late.

  28. Cant wait for to this to urgently not happen. 2026 needs record turnout from people who magically start giving a shit.
