We need to establish our willingness to do this right now. Putin’s invasions, while effective, are not subtle. They rely on the fact that after decades of peace on the continent most Europeans don’t know how to react at such a transgression. It’s the geopolitical equivalent of bystanders in a genteel town not knowing how to respond when a brazen goon punches someone in the face.
Putin is relying on all of Europe seeing other countries as separate and expendable, until Russia comes for them.

We created the last 20 years of terrorism off the back of that idea. Lets leave other nations to sort out their issues. Sanctions are fine, committing your own people’s blood is not.
This is why it is not just political point-scoring to talk about the Tories taking donations from Russia. Some very tough calls will need to be made and executed in the next few days and weeks, knowing to what extent Russian influence has penetrated the party is vital if we want to trust the government to do the right thing at the right time and to stick with that decision. We cannot have politicians prevaricating at a time like this, not when democracy is at stake, politicians worried about their outside interests could very well be a liability that we cannot afford right now.
The absolute state of the EU defence wise. The head of the BND needing to be extracted by special forces. Just such immense nativity.
And no, an EU army would not have solved this.

Any non member, European country that would like NATO troops to deploy there needs to get them. Moldova and Finland in particular.
Like they have failed to do with Ukraine? Full on war with Russia is the only realistic course. Boo hoo western sensibilities, war is offensive, we want peace. You want peace then you surrender. Thank god people who think like that weren’t in charge for ww2 otherwise the Nazis would rule the world. Time to fight for what you believe is right, instead of being the lazy wimps western capitalism has turned you into with luxury lifestyles.
If we get nuked, I’m putting a target on my head so it won’t miss me. I don’t want to be around watching people suffer and suffering at the same time due to contamination and a slow painful death. Nope, I will take seconds of pain over years of suffering thank you.
