Unwrapping Christmas celebrations in France • FRANCE 24 English

Join FRANCE 24 as we take a look at how we celebrate “Noël”, or Christmas, in France. French people tend to have a big family lunch on Christmas Day, but the big event is in fact on Christmas Eve. Called the “réveillon de Noël”, it involves eating traditional French dishes like oysters, foie gras, chestnut-stuffed turkey and a delicious log-shaped cake. Essentially, celebrating Christmas in France is all about eating until you pop. Joyeux Noël!

  1. I will convert myself completely to Christianity religion officially .if you send me money.also my children babies will be christians

  2. This report was ONLY ABOUT FOOD!!! Nothing about santons, celebrating christmas mass at church, gift giving and other traditions! This report is an insult to Christians not only in France but around the world who celebrate Jesus's birthday. The vast majority of French still go to church even if the producers in Paris have no care for it….they should stick to the facts and honor the entirety of French Celebrations. I wonder if they would do the same for Ramadan?

  3. You guys have already done 2 or 3 of the exact same show.huhhhh just because you put on a new sweater doesn’t really make it a new reportage. Don’t you get bored yourselves? It sounds like you both are compared to previous episodes.

  4. Christmas without CHRIST is just a party.
It's not the streets alone that need to be lighted , but your conscience needs to be enlightened to have a fine WILL to avoid choosing stupidity . Blessed ADVENT.

  5. The food sounds great, err, maybe hold the escargots.
I can eat all sorts of things, oysters and so on and love them. But there's something about a snail that just doesn't tickle the fancy. It just looks like a disaster zone covered in a shell.
Joyeaux Noël tout le monde! 🙂
