  1. We’re not decarbonizing unless we’re forced through via some worldwide catastrophe or revolution. Those with money and power are way too invested in the status quo. Just look at the top oil producing nations: Saudi Arabia, Russia, USA, Canada, and Iraq. None of these countries or those who control oil production in these countries are going to disrupt their own massive stream of wealth and power. In Saudi Arabia it’s Mohammed bin Salman, in Russia it’s Putin, in USA it’s shareholders of Exxon Mobile, etc. They funnel huge amounts of money into politicians and government to mitigate any new regulation. This is why Biden’s approach was all carrots and no sticks. Do you see any of these country leaders or shareholders waking up one day and deciding to disrupt their golden goose? Even in Norway, which is supposedly such a progressive and green country, 60% of its export value is generated via oil and gas. It’s the second largest producer of fossil fuels in Europe, just after Russia.
