Hello! We are currently staying in an Airbnb in Finland, and these (pictured) are on the wall. Do they have something to do with heating?? We can't find anything in the cabin to turn heat on or off ..this appears to be the only relevant looking device. How do they work? There are no switches or anything. Thank you

  1. open the door of those. it hinges to the left. inside you find the controls.

  2. Those look like switches for floor heating. Recommend leaving the settings as they are unless they are like on some ridiculously warm levels.

Edit: Actual switches are under the cover.

  3. While it is ok to adjust temperature a bit, you are not supposed to turn off heating (and it should be already on). Heating is supposed to be on all the time, unless your landlord has spesificly asked you to turn it off when you leave.

  4. That’s the underfloor heating, it’s on tho and is heating correctly as the light is red. I would not recommend touching those without contacting the host. There should also be a primary heat source that isn’t the underfloor heading, such as radiators etc. Is it cold or too hot inside?

  5. While there are guesses, which may be valid, it is impossible to be 100% sure based on that photo.

You should ask your host if you cannot figure ot out by yourself.
