Dead Space is one of the best horror games out there, even earning a remake last year, where players got to delve back into the terrifying atmosphere and innovative gameplay. The series has a handful of original installments, with Dead Space 3 being the most recent at 11 years old now. Players, of course, would love to see a Dead Space 4, but unfortunately, it doesn’t look to be in the books.
The remake of Dead Space was popular among players but apparently did not do well enough commercially for EA to be satisfied. Publishers nowadays are looking for big numbers, and too many studios are failing to meet these high expectations, with studio closures continuing. While Dead Space is ostensibly a hugely popular franchise among players, EA doesn’t plan to cater to those players.

The Dead Space Remake Was a Nail in the Coffin For the Future of Dead Space
According to the Series Creators, EA Rejected a Recent Pitch for Dead Space 4
Series creators Bret Robbins, Glen Schofield, and Christopher Stone shared on the Dan Allen Gaming Podcast that EA rejected a Dead Space 4 pitch as recently as this year. According to Schofield, EA “isn’t interested right now,” and whether that means they could be in the future is up for interpretation. It’s not looking good, however, as the reason for this rejection is mostly likely due to the Dead Space remake’s financial performance, which has pushed EA to axe any potential for a Dead Space 2 remake.
While none of this is written in stone, it doesn’t bode well for the future of Dead Space. The creators have made it clear that they have no intention of fighting EA on this, stating they “know who to talk to,” and that “the industry is in a weird place right now.” While they’ve clearly accepted the verdict, this fresh information for fans of the franchise will no doubt stir some upset.
