  1. Didn’t they do that in “O Brother Where Art Thou.”

  2. [Universal Pictures](https://x.com/UniversalPics/status/1871314845083042266):

    >Christopher Nolan’s next film ‘The Odyssey’ is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to IMAX film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026.

    Cast:

    * Matt Damon
    * Tom Holland
    * Anne Hathaway
    * Robert Pattinson
    * Zendaya
    * Lupita Nyong’o
    * Charlize Theron

  3. So it was neither the vampire movie nor the helicopter movie, unless he’s taking a lot of liberties with this Odyssey adaptation.

  4. Mark my words, Nolan is going to some how get the guy from Jurassic park to grow him a Medusa, Minotaur, and Sirens

  5. So now he’s doing an Oliver Stone? Because he just keeps remaking the Odyssey over and over.

    Or is he doing a Coen Brothers at this point? Damn, we’re in a tight spot.

  6. Feels like something Legendary would be involved with.

  7. I’m guessing

    * Matt Damon Odysseus
    * Tom Holland Telemachus (Odysseus’ son)
    * Anne Hathaway Penelope (Odysseus’ wife)
    * Robert Pattinson Zeus
    * Zendaya Circe
    * Lupita Nyong’o Calypso
    * Charlize Theron Athena

  8. Just saying, Sean Bean would probably work in the title role…

  9. Ew, first a movie about some gimmicky time travel nonsense and then about some forgotten scientist from last century. Nolan really fallen off

  10. I could read the book again in less time than it will take to watch his version

  11. At this rate he’ll adapt the first amphibian to set foot on land in about 10 years

  12. Let me guess… it’s gonna be the nth adaptation that completely removes the mythology in favor of “realism”.

  13. you mean the OG badass hero on a journey culminating in intense climax where he kills everyone and is reunited with his love? about time someone’s decided to mine that plot

  14. Coming soon: Man of Constant Sorrows by Hans Zimmer

  15. Odyssey in space, but time is backwards and it’s a dream… but you can’t remember!

  16. I’m super excited but want to point out he’s got a tall hill to climb here to surpass the masterpiece that is Oh Brother Where Art Thou.

  17. I just hope people dont start naming their dogs Argos after this

  18. I don’t like this at first blush. Many a good writer/director has gone down in flames doing some metaphorical or literal adaptation of a greek myth.
