  2. Why is raped in air quotes for this headline?

    I get that there’s a whole process to go through before the facts are confirmed but I don’t recall seeing air quotes before on similar stories.

  13. After looking through 128 comments so far not seen 1 comment say the usual a woman would get of:

    * Did they lead the attacker on?
    * Where they wearing something revealing?
    * Could they of avoided the situation?
    * Did they say NO forcibly?
    * Are you sure they didn’t lead them on first?
    * Are you sure they are not lying?

    Don’t get me wrong I’m very glad nobody is saying that about the guy victim, just wish it was the norm.

  14. I initially thought raped was in quotation marks because when a woman rapes a man, it’s not classed as rape under UK law but after reading the article, I have no idea.

  15. What does “raped” mean? Why quote it, could just say he reported it. I always hate when they say allegations or alleged too it should say the victim has reported it. Can’t be held liable and doesn’t shame or re victimise victims.
