Most parts of Finland should brace itself for a mild, rainy and snowless Christmas Day, according to the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI).
A weather system from the west will bring rain to Finland on Christmas Day, causing further snowmelt. In the southern and central parts, precipitation will mainly fall as rain.
“Temperatures will rise significantly above zero across the entire country. Only the northernmost parts of Lapland will remain below freezing,” FMI meteorologist Kaisa Solin told STT.

FMI has issued warnings for poor driving conditions on Christmas Day in Northern Ostrobothnia, Kainuu, and Lapland.
Warnings for strong winds have also been issued for marine areas, except for the Archipelago Sea, the Åland Sea, and the western part of the Northern Baltic Sea.
