    If you worry about aesthetics, you could make half-moon shaped ones. Perfectl valid traditional joulutorttu design.

  8. As a practical tip, try folding the corners down in the middle together and only then heaping jam on top of them. This will help prevent the shape from unfolding. Thicker jam will help, too.
