  1. > “Sort of in the middle of the White House living area, President Jimmy Carter was sitting in a chair with a burgundy V-neck and a beer, and he was watching Dan Aykroyd play himself on Saturday Night Live, and he was laughing hysterically,” Gasteyer said, noting that Carter “understood that it was funny” and that she realized “there was a power to that.”

  2. Meanwhile, most modern politicians seem to take personal offense whenever they are parodied on Television. At least from one side, it seems.

  3. He was made fun of at the time with emphasis on his southern roots, and inherited (like a lot of presidents) a lot of the troubles he was blamed for; however, he always acted and reacted with patience and grace. He did the best he could with what he had.

In the long run, I believe history will remember him as one of the better presidents.

  4. “As a child Gasteyer was friends with Amy Carter, daughter of then-president Jimmy Carter, who she bonded with through the violin.” Wiki

That explains how she could be in the White House living quarters as a kid.

  5. Because he isnt a man child nir has a fragile ego. We had Jimmy at the wrong time

  6. The Ask President Carter skit from old SNL is pretty great. Talks a guy down off an Orange Sunshine high.
