Hey guys so I received this bill for the year of 2023. I moved in the month of march. Although the bill is from march to December of 2023.
I live in a 65 square meter house and is this bill too much ? I checked google and saw that average cost for the 60-70 sqm house is around 800-1000 euros for a year.
Can someone please help me understand this?

Well it appears that it’s mostly heating costs, and if I am reading it correctly then 70% of those are based on your actual consumption.
So either you have been using the heater very inefficiently (for example leaving the window open for long periods of time with the heater on) or the insulation of your apartment is just terrible.
If it’s the latter, there may not be a lot you can do unfortunately. There are self-sticking silicone seals you can buy for leaky windows or doors, but in a rented apartment that’s pretty much the most you can do.
so you lived in that apartment since 01.03.2023? i don’t see how they calculated this here, they would need to remove 2/12 from the costs since you only lived 10/12 of the year in the apartment.
Something is wrong with that bill. Your apartment with 45 sqm represents 6% of the building but your are intend to pay 17% of the complete buildings heating costs?
17714 out of 80092 units? Sound very wrong to me.
Or did you use your apartment as sauna?
Not sure about the dates because they are not visible in your photo but as a reference for your consumption you can see that you rent about 5,7% of the building’s floor space but you consumed 22,1% of the energy. If all the other flats are normally occupied, you consumed about 4 times the average energy for a flat of your size in your building.
Just as a rough estimate not knowing the situation in the house.
In Germany, we call this “Lehrgeld”. Money spend on things you learned a lesson from.
