Turkey doing Turkey things.
Would be interesting to see what the Syrian response is to this, we already know no one else is going to stand up for the Kurds.
Kurds are somewhat strong and currently protected by the US. A lot depends on Trump and who flatters or gives him gratuities. America’s geopolitical interests in counterbalancing turkey explained by career analysts in the Pentagon and state department probably won’t have much bearing on the matter.
Israel may have an interest in Kurds and Druze retaining autonomy from the HTS jihadists who have overthrown Assad, in which case their air power could prevent Turkey- allied militants from burying Kurds.
He said YPG/PKK, not Kurdish rebels. Turkey in general refrains from the usage of Kurds when they are talking about a specific group of Kurds.
Can we have accurate reporting at least in this place?
Look at the Iraqi Kurds, and look at the SNA. Listen I have no problem with Kurds in turkiye as a Turk, be part of the government and let the state invest. The old PKK insurgent wars are over.
The reason the opposition and ruling party is united on this issue is cause of the past group being linked/off shot of the PKK (YPG). Syria also must be inclusive towards its minority population welcome them into the government and develop equally with each province. Give some autonomy and invest.
Ironically AK party has Kurdish/turkish ministers. It’s possible to unite as a nation.
We are definitely in an emerging multi-polar world order.
Regional powers like Turkey are going to start flexing their muscles more and probably start expanding their territory.
The “West vs non-West” worldview is becoming antiquated
