Burning a pagan symbol is metal, I’m into it just in general, probably has some meaning to them as well. Wonder what kind of spell they were trying to cast.
And the government seems to be responding to this incident and the protests by arresting the perpetrators, by funding the repairing of the tree, by promising it won’t happen again, and increasing security at Christmas events. All the right moves, it seems.
I used to live in a beach side suburb where we had a tradition that a couple of weeks after xmas we’d plant our trees upright in the sand and set them afire at dusk. Sorry, not sorry if anyone was offended
