The Princesses’ support for their mother comes at a pivotal moment in their royal careers. While neither sister is considered a working royal, and the King is reluctant to offer them such a role in the firm, it is thought that their dutiful response to the Windsors’ Annus Horribilis might just change his mind.

After the garden party success, a royal insider explained to MailOnline just how vital the York sisters had been to His Majesty, even amid the feud between Charles and their father, Prince Andrew, over the rights to Royal Lodge: ‘The King is looking to bring in some fresh blood and he’s looking to Beatrice and Eugenie. He thinks that they’ve grown into very sensible, lovely women who he thinks could be a real asset. Charles is listening to his public. They have been crying out for that royal glamour that has been missing during a time when his slimmed-down monarchy is in desperate need of bulking up.’

And when it comes to representing the future of the Firm, both Princesses have become truly international ambassadors this year, making frequent visits to Asia and the Middle East to represent causes and interests close to their hearts. Princess Eugenie, a director at Hauser & Writh, took to Hong Kong in March, attending an exhibition marking the start of Art Basel, and has been a frequent flyer to Doha throughout 2024.

She was in the city as recently as November, visiting the M7 art centre to see the Ellsworth Kelly exhibition – the first Middle Eastern retrospective of the artist’s work. The mother-of-two also coincided her trip with a stop off at the Chaumet and Nature exhibition in Doha, which opened a few days ago and showcases more than 100 pieces from the luxury jeweller’s collection. Eugenie, who is an art director at cutting-edge gallery Hauser & Wirth, posed on the navy blue carpet at the exhibition, surrounded by smiling representatives from the brand.
