CHARLEVOIX COUNTY, Mich,. (WPBN/WGTU) – – Boyne Mountain in Charlevoix County’s staff says that the season is opening with new technology on the slopes.

Maintenance workers can now check the status of snow guns on their phones.

“People were very hesitant this year. With the snowfall last year, people were hesitant to book, but the snowfall we had early this year, and our new snowmaking technology has really helped to exceed our customers’ expectations and bring people out,” said Cindy Johnson-Minkwic, Boyne Mountain Controller “We’re having a great, busy season so far, and we are hopeful it continues throughout.”

Boyne mountain will host its annual Torchlight Parade and fireworks display this New Year’s Eve.
