Russia shoots down 2 passenger planes yet America still the worlds baddie? Russia throws the entire continent of Europe into turmoil that may not end for generations, yet everywhere else is a hellscape?
When you move outside of Europe, you see how insane this really is. When you know nothing but people who agree with everything you say in your echo chamber, you couldn’t possibly ever imagine what an alternative voice of reason may even begin to sound like.
EU either needs to start going on the offensive or EU citizens need new leadership. “But what can they possibly do?!?!” … moments like this is how the EU can start acting like the alpha, sending EU leaders to Azerbaijan which would go over with the central Asian countries and begin fighting back. That’s laughable under the current leadership. A letter of ‘solidarity’ instead is the best we’ll see.
Didn’t he say they were friends not even a week ago?
EU will send a strongly worded letter to Putin…
Just an apology? Lol
That sounds awfully russophobic and escalating. I’m sure the peaceful RF, who clearly is a victim here and everywhere, will demand to cease these wild accusations, or else. Let’s wait to hear what their main peacekeeping officer Medvedev has to say to sooth everybody’s worries.
Good luck
Peskov: “Um…sorry?”
With friends like putin…. Just ask Armenia… funny enough against Azerbaijan…
Might as well die while waiting for it, not gonna happen
“You killed peoples from our country!”
“Now, apologize!”
Considering that the Russian regime is still lying about the fact that they and their proxies accidentally shot down MH17 a decade ago, I would be surprised if the regime admits the same for this shootdown.
An apology never raised anyone from the dead.
An apology. Russia just downed an aircraft killing innocents and Azerbaijan want an apology.
This world is honestly fucked and I really should stop being surprised by it.
Well, as Kazakh let me explain why is reasonable from my perspective. Many people in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan strongly against Russian war against Ukraine, but at this situation people understand that was clearly mistake by Russian army. I doubt anyone in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan believe that Russians intentionally attacked AZAL plane. For Kazakhstan who lost 6 citizens in this crash situation a little difficult, because we economically tied with Russia, most of Kazakh oil goes through russian pipes to Europe, so Kazakhstan government not interested in worsening relationship with Russia. Azerbaijan on other hand previously accidentally shot down Russian helicopter in 2020 and officially apologised for mistake. So now Azerbaijan can ask Russia do the same.
Imho Azerbaijan right now has strongest cards and can negotiate with Russia what will be final results of investigation in exchange of for some political benefit. Also Azerbaijan is backed by Turkey and not so dependent from Russia.
Kazakhstan as always between rock and a hard place, Azerbaijan is brotherly nation (turkic states) and Russia (biggest economic partner with whom u have longest continuous border in the world). So Kz will accept final agreement between them.
Putin did recently apologize to Hungary for 1956. Obviously he didn’t mean it as he brags about USSR in all his speeches and thinks Stalin is the greatest man who ever lived. But when he sees that a country doesn’t budge he budges. Bullies don’t bully strong people and Orban was unhappy and demanded an apology. Hungary cannot work with Russia if Russia rewrites this part of history as it’s a key element for Hungarian national pride.
> In August, a history textbook written by one of Mr Putin’s advisers, Vladimir Medinsky, claimed that the 1956 Hungarian Revolution was a fascist uprising organised by the West and said that the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Hungary in 1990 had been a mistake.
> Hungarian politicians and historians criticised the textbook.
> Szilard Demeter, the director of the Petofi Literary Museum, said that “inhumane dictatorships will still be inhumane and dictatorships, even if someone starts to portray them in a positive light.”
> Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó commented: “There are issues in Hungarian history on which we won’t even start a debate with anyone. The Revolutionaries of 1956 are our heroes.”

Russia should just apologise to everyone
