In Nazi-occupied Poland in 1939, Polish citizens who were given death sentences without a trial were put to death by firing squad.

  1. This photo was taken in September 39′ in Bydgoszcz and was just the beginning of nearly 6 years of horrors served by the III Reich on Polish population. My mixed ancestry family of Polish subjects / citizens for centuries spoke in their house both German and Polish. In 1939/1940 they ceased speaking German altogether.
