This photo was taken in September 39′ in Bydgoszcz and was just the beginning of nearly 6 years of horrors served by the III Reich on Polish population. My mixed ancestry family of Polish subjects / citizens for centuries spoke in their house both German and Polish. In 1939/1940 they ceased speaking German altogether.
