• Would rather a “negotiated end to fighting, even if Russia still has control of some parts of Ukraine”: Italy (+40), Spain (+21), France (+20), Germany (+17)
• Would rather “Support Ukraine until Russia withdraws, even if this means the war lasts longer”: Sweden (+21), Denmark (+6), UK (+1)
Don’t negotiate with terrorists. Appeasement doesn’t work. Respect the 1991 borders.
Ukraine losing some territory is the most likely end to the war. I don’t think it’s a winnable war unless the West puts boots on the ground, but that opens a whole other can of worms.
It will be really interesting how things will turn out post-war.
It was never realistic for Ukraine to win the war due to manpower issues, i.e., difference in sheer population number.
The US aim was just to push Russia to a pyrrhic victory. I know Ukranians do not like hearing that but sadly, thats the reality and was the aim from the very begining.
If the West wants to supply Ukraine with more weapons than they should supply them with more weapons, and if the Ukrainian people want to continue the war they should continue the war. but in my personal opinion I think that Ukraine has done more than enough to stop Russia’s ambitions and should cut their losses before more innocent lives are taken. they can get a pretty good deal at this stage of the war and I fear if it continues for longer support from the West might dry up and Russia will achieve a total victory. and before you say that this is “appeasement” it’s not. did appeasement before World War II cost Nazi Germany almost a billion dollars a day to annex Czechoslovakia for example?
What a shitty survey. Define “some parts”. I fully support ukraines struggle against the invasion, but I don’t think it’s realistic to expect it to win back crimea. So I think it’s unwise to fight till every last inch of territory is back in ukrainian hands and waste tens of thousands of lives in the process. So I’d actually vote for the negotiations as well. Not because I want Ukraine to be sold out to the russians, but because I think that’s the most realistic outcome in the end anyways. But it makes a huge difference whether I think some territory losses are to be expected in a peace deal, or whether I think Ukraine should make peace no matter how big the territorial losses are.
