  1. One of the first emails back into work is from my manager’s manager, who is on her honeymoon, saying we calculated a fundraising total incorrectly by over 100k.

Still dying with that chest lurgy thing that’s doing the rounds but said fck it I’m heading into town a walk the cabin fever is getting me, do feel slightly better for it but back home armed with a new cough bottle, some ibuprofen and cough sweets. I might do a skip run after, house is full of crap that needs clearing, had enough of sitting around the house at this stage, might also visiting the parents then darts after.

    Shortish shift though and a delivery to work, so hopefully, day will go quickly.
    Home to leftovers or crackers and cheese!

  6. I’m trying to nurse my way through a brew. Woke up to the gift of sickness and diarrhoea on Christmas day and have been unable to keep anything down.

  8. Enjoying my usual post-Christmas hotel stay to get over the gruelling ordeal of waddling from house to house eating enormous Christmas dinners that I did nothing to help prepare. I swam for an hour this morning, sat in the steam room and sauna for a bit, then smashed an enormous hotel breakfast. Now out to get some fresh air and buy some silly craft beers, then probably spend the rest of the day reading, writing and getting excited about what to order on Deliveroo this evening.

  9. Still doing the family rounds but we’ll be back home tonight to break into our mountain of cheese that we just couldn’t face after all the rest of the Christmas food we’ve consumed.

  10. Was perfectly fine on Christmas Day, had a great day. Woke up yesterday with the worst cough ever, honestly I sound like a heavy smoker, so today is another duvet day.

  11. I’m dreading going out to see my auntie and her foster kids as I don’t like little kids (her youngest foster kid is primary school aged)

  12. Me and the wife have been dying from a flu like bug since Christmas Eve. Really scuppered plans this Christmas.

    She’s currently in bed still, I’m trying to rev up enough energy to tidy up and order some food in then probably die in front of the tv with a film on.

  13. I am in work. I have zero oomph. I also scheduled staff meetings for all departments today and now wondering why I am such a dumb fuck.

  14. I’m kinda glad I’m not staying with the family much longer. Unfortunately we’ve mostly exhausted non-p-word topics so conversation with mum is starting to get uncomfortable, especially since this morning she’s started seeing the tv as a barrier to conversation. I’d hate to have to put my foot down on it because she’d go off in a huff or acuse me of bullying which is bollocks.

  15. Working 4pm-2am tonight so just gonna have a chill out before then.

    Will probably find room for chocolate during that time.

  16. Covering all the Christmas days in the office this year, so was in for a full day on 24th and again today. Really quiet, looking like I’m busy but actually doing as little as possible…

  17. Nothing major. Mate I was due to meet post Christmas for lunch but she bailed. Instead treating to my parents for a pub lunch instead to say thank you for what they did over the last few days. Driving back and then telly. Quite a quiet day really.

I’ve got a quiet weekend my husband has gone to visit his mum for a couple of days.She had a Tia episode last week and I saw how worried he was about it so suggested he drive up and spend a few days with her his work doesn’t reopen until the 6 th of January so he’s not wasting his annual leave.Im going to chill out with the dog and have so much Christmas munch to get through am definitely going to diet in January.Just got to find a series to binge watch my house is tidy which is a bonus.

  20. Waiting for the pest control people to get here. We have a rat infestation 😭 mainly thanks to a neighbour who keeps “feeding” the birds – ie, three times a day, at least a loaf of bread is thrown into their garden. This encourages literal flocks of birds, but not the type you’d want in your garden, we are talking about seagulls, crows, magpies, pigeons, that sort of thing. The little birds and songbirds have all been scared off.

    So now there are rats. We’ve tried poison, we’ve tried traps. Several have been caught and they are large. Very, very large. They’ve burrowed under my greenhouse and into it. There is a mountain of earth in my greenhouse (I had a base that was paving slabs around the periphery and a gravel part in the middle so they’ve burrowed into that). My greenhouse smells of rats so we are going to have to dismantle it, get rid of the earth, lay a concrete base and reassemble it.

    Other than that, cleaning and things.

  21. Today is the annual Christmas visit from my aunt and uncle, for me and my parents. No one in this house is looking forward to it. At least they bring presents.

  22. On the sofa, just bought OG red dead redemption cos it comes with undead nightmare and I never got a chance to play thru that as a teenager!

    Slept awfully last night so feeling a bit weird – should really be tidying as my partners mum is coming over tomorrow but to be honest I am hoping he does the majority of it since I have done the last 2 or 3 big cleans

  23. So, did anyone else have to listen to someone setting off fireworks on Christmas day? Hopefully, it was a one-off thing, and I won’t have to worry about Christmas fireworks next year.

  25. Laying in bed really ill with cold/flu/green parrot disease.

  26. Back home after a few days visiting the aged parents. Love them but happy to be home. Still in bed at 11:15. Might go for a walk later. That’s it.

  27. Still in bed. Walk later in nature. Then gaming, lush.

    Neighbour has been hammering since 9am, not so lush. No idea wtf requires 2.20 hours of continuous hammering.

  28. Friday is my usual non-working day and I’ve taken next week off. With the bank holidays and weekends it means I get 12 days off in a row using only three days of leave, hehe. 

    Nothing planned except watching films and snacking. Our local bakeries are all closed until the new year so had to venture further afield than usual on the morning dog walk, but managed to source regular Friday [coffee and croissant](https://ibb.co/z2zV2Sp) with the pup. 

  29. Going to my aunt’s house later. Kinda put off going as I’ve spent the last few days getting her to agree to me coming on this date – she wanted to drag it out until after New Year’s, she’s terrible at committing to a specific day and time. So that’s kinda thrown the excitement off a bit. But – I get to come home early and cook a big roast, so that’s something to look forward to!

  30. At the laptop struggling to get started on work projects. Need more motivation. Waiting for the 10 o’clock cleaner to arrive. (It’s 11.30).

  31. Had a drive round Bakewell, Hathersage, Calver this morning, stopped at Chatsworth farm shop for a 50% off steak and ale pie for tea. Mixture of Sun and thick fog made it a great backdrop

  32. In law family gathering at MILs. I detest both my BILs , it will be a million degrees, I have a horrible chesty cough and honestly can’t be fucked.

  33. Partner is with family, I’ve just got in from a two hour journey from seeing mine. Flat to myself until tomorrow. I’m hitting the sofa for a few hours then going to the pub tonight and pretending I don’t have a ton of university work due in three weeks that I’ve barely started

  34. It’s Friday?!

    I’ve got work until 4:30pm, going home & having a Chinese. Might play some Worms:Armageddon as I got in the sale with Nintendo Switch and finish an application.

  35. I don’t start my new job till the 6th so I’m embracing the period of the year where time does not exist by having leftover homemade pizza for breakfast while waiting for the darts to start

  36. Had a relatively clear work day on for today until the few other people who are in today realised this, and I’ve had a flurry of ‘while it’s quiet, can you just….’. So it’s not quiet, it’s now mega busy for me and I’m pissed off.

    Husband is off now until 6th January and I’m working all the way through. Bah humbug.

  37. Not back in work until next Thursday, then I’ve got another holiday starting on the 4th, when my girlfriend flies to visit her family and it’s just me and the dog for a week. Still feeling the Christmas idles.
