Probably for the train driver to see if all people have gotten into the train.
To see anyone coming from behind :/
These are for the train drivers. Mostly they have to get up from their chair and move to the side of the driver’s cab to look if it is safe to depart (e.g. no one stuck in a door and so on).
With these mirrors, the driver can stay seated on thier chair and watch that through the mirrors through the front window. Also this makes the stopping time at the station a little shorter.
The train conductor or the personal in the train have to check all the doors before the train can leave the station, when the track is curved the mirrors are there to have a look around the bend track.
For the train driver to see if their teeth are nice and clean. Hope this helps!
For makeup. You can apply makeup and become beautiful even on rural train stops.

To increase the number of angles from which the sun can shine directly into your face.
Nowhere is safe.

The platform is curved so that‘s why there are mirros for the train driver.
For the engineer (that is the correct way to refer to person operating the locomotive) to check if there is no more in/out movement of passengers before departing the platform.
