  1. Was I hearing things or did he threaten military intervention? The bastard is gonna get us all killed if he decides to go in on this.

  2. I guess Boris is about to find out if he measures up to his Churchillian fantasies. I suspect he won’t.

  3. The issue is Russia have been planning this for a long time and have prepared for the economic sanctions.

Their allies are able and seem to be willing to help mitigate some of these economic issues too.

The second civilian lives are more involved in this conflict than they already are the west will need to decide whether to intervene properly which will be a shit show.

  4. We should play by Russia’s book. Say… get Ukraine to use German money to hire US/UK private military to fight the Russians. Like the Russian little green men and Wagner Group mercenaries.

  5. “Boris Johnson promises”

Who fucking cares? His word is completely meaningless. We might as well assume the opposite will actually happen.

  6. Suction must have been preventive. Putin intend was crystal clear. Now the only thing that may help a land-lease scale military supplie to Ukraine and total embargo on Russia.

  7. So we might impost a few more token sanctions that will ultimately do sod all? Face it Boris, you couldn’t stand up to our friendly media and hid in a fridge. Putin/Xi will wipe the floor with you, you’re out of your depth, do us all a favour and resign with what little dignity you have left.

  8. Whether we go in with NATO or not is irrelevant. Russia will still obliterat us and China will help them out I’m sure. So basically we’re fucked.

  9. Ah great. Sanctions. That’ll show ’em. No way they knew that would happen and it means so little to them that they don’t care.
Well done Bojo. Youre really doing a cracking job……at making the world a little bit worse to live in every day.

  10. Putin has made a huge mess of COVID in Russia. This war is a massive distraction to keep him in power. He longs for the glory days of the USSR.

  11. Slightly off topic question but what exactly does or can the average Joe do during a war?

I saw a gif on another sub of explosions going off and could see a delivery truck on the road. Does that guy just stop working? Does he carry on with his job? Is there a typical protocol to follow?

  12. Why can’t we just have peace. I’m sick of these pathetic men in charge being so war hungry. Innocent peoples lives are being ruined by this. Why can’t we have peace !!!

  13. Sure those sanctions will be “massive” as he says, it’s not like the Tories had received estimated to be upwards of [£1.93m](https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/feb/23/oligarchs-funding-tories) from Russian oligarchs since he became prime minister in 2019… I’m sure the vested interest the Russians have in keeping the tories in power is nothing for us everyday folks to worry about and totally not nefarious, because the tories have showed time and time again that they benefit the future of this country, care about normal citizens over a handful of elites, and would never do anything that exclusively benefits them and their cronies… /s … so much fucking /s

In all seriousness tho my thoughts with anyone who has friends or family in Ukraine.

  14. What are sanctions going to fucking do exactly? Ol vlad took crimea and the west did fuck all and he knows we wont do fuck all when he takes ukraine

  15. I’m not going to believe a single word this man says. I don’t believe he will actually impose any sanctions since many of his private donors are receivers of Russian money. We’re really going to see how weak Boris is as our nation’s leader.

  16. Ha ha ha ha nah he’s full of shit.. he won’t even sanction his russian Tory donors.. he needs to do a Cyprus on Russians living in the UK.. take everything the Putin way ie steal it outright, then auction off the assets..

  17. BoJo:Wants to deny Russia access to SWIFT.

    Germany:Nah fam.

Honestly surprised, that would have been an extremely heavy sanction.

  18. As I understand it… We in Europe need their gas and they need to sell it to us. Since that is mutually unacceptable to lose, and since we don’t really trade much else with them, what exactly is the plan here?

  19. I don’t want this at all, but I truly believe Putin will not stop until western forces engage him in armed conflict. It won’t be pritty, but it might he necessary.

  20. “Massive sanctions”??

Oh good, so this means that they’re going to stop taking political donations from Russian citizens?

Or will they take more and call it draining the economy
