Biggest losers included BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:), which lost 0.96% or 1.30 points to trade at 133.65 in late trade. ASM International NV (AS:) declined 0.70% or 4.00 points to end at 566.00 and ASML Holding NV (AS:) shed 0.52% or 3.60 points to 684.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 71 to 25 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.86% or 0.60 to $70.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.78% or 0.57 to hit $73.42 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.88% or 23.34 to trade at $2,630.56 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 107.88.
