Frost, freezing fog, and bitter cold: Luxembourg ends 2024 in winter’s grasp.
According to MétéoLux, Saturday will bring sunshine, particularly after the morning mist clears. However, clouds will arrive overnight, bringing foggy conditions, especially in higher regions. Temperatures will drop to -4°C in the morning and rise to 2–4°C in the afternoon. Travel cautiously, as slippery conditions are expected.
Sunday will bring no sunshine, with overcast skies keeping temperatures below 1°C. The sky will remain overcast until New Year’s Eve. Temperatures however, will rise slightly, reaching 5°C on Monday and 3°C on Tuesday and should not drop below 0– -1°C.
In France, frost is forecast in the northeast, with a yellow alert for snow and ice in Lorraine on Saturday night. Belgium will see similar weather, with sunny skies on Saturday giving way to greyness until 2025, though no alerts have been issued for the Province of Luxembourg. Temperatures will hover between -1°C and 4°C through year-end.
