I’m gonna find a list of Russian brands and companies to boycott. Be right back.
Starmer must go for the jugular on this.
The LibDems so far seem to be the only party with any real guts, Layla Moran (using parliamentary privilege) read out a list of about 30 Russian in the UK who could have been targeted by sanctions. Full story below:
I’m not sure we are dependant on Russian money, it’s just one of many different streams. As they say, don’t put all your eggs in one basket and keep a diverse portfolio.
Companies follow money, not ethics and morals, they are not going to want to lose out on millions and will not do so unless forced to do so by the government (a government who love Russian money themselves). Profit before people is how companies operate, lose Russian money and they will look to China, Saudi Arabia, the UAE etc.
I mean, they’re not wrong, but.. who owns the independent, again?
Imagine the Independent writing this editorial for Christ’s sake.
Bit late for that since most of the English electorate seem to think that while no politicians are to be trusted the Tories are the best bet.
White collar crime is easier to conceal than blue collar crime, because most folk can’t decipher it.
This has been a cancer in the centre of the UK for year’s, finally it is being addressed, it was corroding our democracy and civil society.
Oh come on, what is the alternative? Live within our means? Work for a living? Tax the rich? Unimaginable!
This whole situation shows why corrupt and incompetent buffoons like the Tories are so utterly corrosive. You can get away with it when someone like Johnson is “just” pulling stunts and lining his pockets as the mayor of London, but it’s simply not possible to form a credible response to a major international crisis when the leadership consists of fundamentally unserious people compromised by financial influence.
Isolate the Russians and put them back in the accursed “Dibbuk box” they keep opening.
And cheap Chinese exports too. The money can go to supporting Russia.
