Hello all,
Thanks for reading. I am looking forward to buying a car for personal use (a family of 3). Is this car value for money?
Thanks for any advice..
If you need it right now and look for a BMW, it is an option, yes. It is more than 7 years old, but the price is not unusual. I would be a bit hesitant with a hybrid though – the small battery might be at its end of life, you should check that. Hybrids are very complex. Do you have an option to charge it at home?
I don’t know enough about cars to say if it’s a good price for such a car, but you definitely need to get it checked by an independent car mechanic before you buy it!
Well im not expert but km looks good , 100 km for 2l looks great , have alot of space for 3 , i belive looks good in and out i wulld pay extra for ceheck up at service and If pass its good car for that money
I wouldn’t go for an hybrid … just a car driving with gas nothing else… and I guess it’s one of the first hybrids so I would say no don’t take it.. and if you still can wait take another look around
I suggest you (cross)post this to r/automobil
I’m not sure about the market value of this specific model, but I do have experience with hybrid cars—specifically the Golf 8 Hybrid. I hope this insight doesn’t stray too far from your main question, but I wanted to share my thoughts on hybrids.
When it comes to fuel consumption, the official figures provided by BMW or VW are rarely accurate. If you plan to use your car primarily for long-distance driving on a regular basis, a hybrid might not be the best option for you. However, if your driving mostly involves shorter trips, hybrids can be very efficient.
For example, I don’t drive much on highways and have managed to complete most of my trips within the ~40 km electric-only range. In such cases, a hybrid can be a practical and economical choice in the long term.
That said, if you’re considering this car, make sure the battery system is still in good condition and that all major components have been thoroughly checked. If everything checks out, the price could be attractive—at least for me. Still, I’d recommend researching the market value of this particular model to ensure you’re getting a fair deal.
I will be carefully because of the all ready 2 owners. Very accurate check necessary. When the price ia under the market average, don’t smell good for me.
Dont take this car.
1. This car is quite high class
2. It has fairly low kilometerstand
3. It is packed with features
4. Its price is 1/5th of the new one.
So it is below the market
This car could be trash, could be a good deal, but you need a very good trusted friend-mechanic.
But you asked question on reddit, so I assume you dont have any experienced friend to help.
My advice – look at the lower tier cars if you want to stay within this budget

If you don’t care about the name and can wait 7-9 months, you might want to have a look at a new Skoda Fabia (same price range and size) as a small family car: https://www.take-your-car.de/eu-neuwagen-skoda-fabia-130-jahre-kamera-led-pdc-klima-shz-x__485632.php
Obviously slower and not fancy, but probably lower maintenance cost.
