  1. This video is a great litmus test for the hypocrisy of the right.

They harp on about forigners being the danger to women and children and here’s a video of what allegedly looks like a forigner protecting a woman from a child.

Their heads must be exploding and there’s been some mental gymnastic I’ve seen in those comments about “angles” but let’s see what comes from the investigation

  2. Man actually does what loads of other people on a bus would like to do

  3. What happened before the video ?  We only see the child being struck.

  4. we need more info in what happened before we make a decision of whats going to happen ,

hopefully the TRA will investigate it quickly

  5. r/ireland users when they see a child getting floored…

  6. Whatever about the right and wrongs of it, I’d say he won’t be behaving inappropriately on buses again.

A lesson hard learned but one he won’t forget in a hurry.

  7. What were his fine upstanding parents up to while he was out using public transport without causing any hassle like a fine young man?

  8. There’s definitely more to this than what’s shown on camera. Hopefully, that will help give context at the very least.

And no, I’m not condoning hitting children with that comment.

It’s odd to see a driver standing outside the bus in what appears to be him, keeping the woman and the boy apart.

  9. Can only see the tail end of the video. Any idea what ked to it.

I’m expecting the kid was shouting something racist to the woman and she made a complaint and bus driver kicked him off but what escalated to the kid getting hit?

  10. The amount of camera rolling nowadays and when a child is getting a full blown clap to the face, it’s 10 seconds long? Something stinks about that. The xenophobic comment on the IG page tells me enough. I don’t like the idea of children getting smacked by adults, but there are limits to what people can suffer. My vote is on fucked around and found out. Hard lesson hopefully learned.

  11. There is absolutely not enough context to have *any* kind of opinion on this (and racist and xenophobic comments are also, naturally, unacceptable either way). But yeah, we don’t know what the kid did, don’t know if he posed a danger, don’t know his age, etc.

  12. The worry I’d have would be for the driver. Hopefully, Dublin Bus will at least take him off the route. There’s every chance a mob will be waiting to ambush him (or his unfortunate replacement – angry mobs tend not to be too selective) tonight or over the coming days.

The kid shouldn’t have been hit and the driver is going to get in trouble, which is probably fair enough, but I’d imagine it’s easy enough to lose the rag when you’re constantly dealing with shite day in and day out.

  13. Obviously something was going down before the slap, why else would someone be filming?

  14. I can’t see the video but this driver may have had numerous negative interactions with this child if they work the route regularly people have limits and if this child thought there would be no repercussions for bad behaviour because of his age maybe he pushed the wrong person too far

  15. Perhaps child’s father should’ve done this a long time ago.
Also, when you think you’re a hard lad, but when someone puts some manners on you … you cry like a little b*tch…

  16. I had a bunch of kids about 10 to 12 acting up like little shits spitting at people off the roof of a petrol station, pushing trollies into cars. just because some random kid is ten does not mean they don’t deserve to get a slap.

  17. What was the context ? I seen the video and it seems he was up to no good but it’s hard to tell.

  18. Seeing the response to this on Facebook and other places know we know why kids and teenagers are absolutely feral in this country, as soon as one of them gets slapped around everybody comes out to defend them like they are some poor innocent angels.

Why is nobody asking for context, why is nobody asking why is a child that small on the streets at night by himself.

  19. What was the child doing beforehand that lead up to this
