Does anyone know why my heater makes this sound? It’s really upsetting. I tried to bleed the radiator but there’s no air trapped inside

  1. Did you not remove the Gremlins before turning on the heating!?

  2. Then check the heater in the basement. And also the freezequard , sometimes they also make this sound.

  3. Somebody somewhere along the way fucked this up and bricked the pipes in. They‘re under constant strain now and will make this noise till the end of time.

Source: have the same issue in my bedroom and have consulted several experts already. There is nothing to be done except dig out the pipes.

  4. Only at this setting or also if it is open? 16°C is a bit low anyhow

  5. In our house, the cause for it was a valve on one of the radiators being installed the wrong way round. Needs to be fixed by an expert if that’s the case.

  6. Can happen if the flow- direction was connected wrong. By changing the direction, the valve where the temperature-regulator sits can start tatatata.

  7. Does it make by General noises of Fluid moving fast ?

  8. I had a similar problem. Nothing helped me.

Had to call guys to get it fixed. Btw, they fixed it from the 3rd try.
The problem was that this regulator thing just was too old to work. Needed to be retired 🙂

  9. Had the same issue. The on pipes a radiator in another room were installed the wrong way around. Contact your landlord and tell them. I found it f*cking annoying back then and lost quite a bit of sleep due to the constant rattling at night.

After they’ve identified the faulty radiator its an easy fix for any Heizungsbauer. They can just replace the thermostat with one designed for inverse flow.

It is described here, if you’d like to give a reference to your landlord: https://www.sbz-monteur.de/heizung/vor-und-ruecklauf-vertauscht-kann-passieren
