If you expect the oil price increases to last, it makes more sense to buy as much as you can now, and rely on the extra layers in order to make it last.
You only want to not spend the money now if you expect the prices to drop.
thats true, i paid 400 e for 500 l and now its 750 e … o gosh …
We were quite lucky. Back in April 2020 it was €420 for 1000 litres, so we bought a second 1200 litre tank for €50 and filled both tanks. We noticed it creeping up in September 2021 so filled up with 1600 for €1,100.
Now 1,000 is €1200!!! We should have enough to do us until the end of next year at least.
Please start graphs at zero unless you want to deliberately mislead. The increase is bad enough as it is.
Fuck that, we’re definitely calling the solar installers.
I pad €960 for 1000 litres about a week ago as I expected it was only getting drastically worse. This for sure has increased the urgency of solar, wind and some sort of heat pump.

Do we expect it to go higher?

Of course we could shop around ya know, but not much to be saved…
450 L was €478 last week today it was €658. Had half a tank but still topped up when the talks of oil reaching peak prices.
Bloody hell! I was looking through the prices for different counties and one distributor in Clare is charging €1,999.98 for 1,000 litres.
Lads this is definitely going to cause a recession, isnt it ?
Hot water bottles are your best bet. One kettle keeps you very toasty for a long time.
Hot water bottle + a fluffy blanket on the couch and you won’t even notice the house is baltic.
Our oil ran out a few hours ago… oh goodie.
Just got 500 litres this week for 485 so this graph seems off, even at average
