The first photo of the set, a previously unseen shot, showed the Duchess, known to many as Fergie, enjoying some family time with August Brooksbank, the three-year-old son she shares with her husband, Jack Brooksbank. The young York and his grandmother held hands among a lusciously manicured country garden, with Fergie looking adoringly into August’s eyes.
‘Happy birthday to my beautiful mumma,’ Eugenie wrote. ‘So proud of the Grannie you are, the mum you are and the woman you are. You’re an inspiration and our endless chats bring me so much happiness and incredible support.’

Some more shots offered a personal perspective on one of the Duchess of York’s most iconic fashion moments. Fergie hit headlines when she graced the Perfect World Foundation awards in Sweden earlier this year, donning a stunning emerald-green cape dress from Safiyaa (a designer loved by Meghan Markle, whose debut in a similar piece for a 2018 state dinner in Fiji may have inspired the Duchess). Fergie looked effortlessly regal, and it might have been that Princess Amalia of the Netherlands thought so, too – the young royal donned the same dress, in the same shade, days later at the Dutch opening of parliament.
