My train from Amsterdam Central to Hamburg Altona got cancelled so I chose a different route but it states that I need to make sure the new route is valid for my ticket. I did some research online on how to check but am still confused as it’s my first time traveling to Europe. Attached is my ticket details.

Old trip was IC 143 transfer to ICE 206

New trip is IC 3029 transfer to IC 1731 to RB 61 to ICE 202

  1. As far as I recall, you should have received a notification in this case in your DB app that you can use any trains with your ticket. So, I think you can pick any route via connections of ICEs, and it should be fine.

    I know this because once my trip from Basel to Bochum was cancelled. After that, the app told me that I could use any trains that took me to Bochum. So, I took multiple connections to finally reach home. The only issue you can face is that the train could be full and you might not get a seat.
