  1. Nearly 30 years ago Princess Diana cleaned out her closet with an epic dress auction, benefitting cancer and AIDS causes.  The auction was a resounding success, and included some of her most iconic looks.  Here are the 5 gowns that netted the most money:

    Slide 1: the Travolta Gown, $222,500
    Slide 3: the Elvis dress, $151,000
    Slide 4: white Victor Edelstein gown, $90,500
    Slide 5: white chiffon Gina Fratini gown, $85,000
    Slide 6: Catherine Walker beaded halter, $77,300
