Five reasons to keep the federal tax credit for electric vehicles. Trump is planning to eliminate a $7,500 EV tax credit that helps consumers afford clean cars while supporting the US auto industry. Ending the credit would be a big step backward for consumers, manufacturing jobs and the US economy.

How bout no.
Oil and gas companies own the US and our politicians. It’s a fabricated controversy to keep them fat. At one time this country loved innovation. Inventing shit was our jam. Now corporations cut our noses to spite our faces
Yeah, the LA times writer is a moron. The tax credit is was primarily helping wealthier folks buy a car they wanted, which the average sale price was over $50K. This isn’t helping the average American, but it does take away a bit of tax burden for people who don’t need it. EV manufacturers also don’t build manufacturing plants in countries based off of their consumer EV tax credit policies. They build manufacturing plants where it’s cost-effective, where there are favorable tax policies for manufacturing, and where they have adequate labor force. Article is just whining about a tax credit which had mostly expired for everyone due to volumes being met and sales not declining.
Good, that is what Americans want. Americans don’t want clean energy. They want their energy the old-fashioned way, as dirty as possible. Americans love pollution and can’t wait to return to the grand old days when rivers burned and love canals were in backyards.
Good. If they eliminate the credit BYD cars will be competitive even with the tariff.
FAFO for all car company and parts supplier employees who vote red. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Rich commie scum wailing.
That never stopped Texas fracking billionaires Tim Dunn, Harold Hamm, and the Wilks brothers (Farris and Dan). They are the ones who are stuffing Trump’s pockets with wads of cash. EVs and renewable energy terrify them so they want all this to go away. They have filled Trump with lies and have given him a mandate to destroy these industries at any cost. They don’t care that this could bankrupt the big three US auto manufacturers. But in so doing, these fine Christian Nationalist men may be opening the door for Chinese manufacturers to take control of the EV, solar, wind, and battery materials markets worldwide.
This reddits a cesspool of misinformation and bad ideas… r/energy is a joke.
Yeah? But if Americans need less gasoline, oil prices go down, and Putin will have issues funding his war.
Affordable you say?
Your car shouldn’t be a tax write off. No matter how impractical it is
I am a Trump supporter, and I support US made cars’ tax credits. Can we disagree and still be friends.
Biden eliminated much of it in 2023
