The tour de Yorkshire was very successful. I’d rather it be run there again than all across the country .
France: LOL.
Fantastic opportunity for Insulate Britain, I’ll let them know.
I live close to the 2012 Olympic cycling route in Surrey that went all around [Box Hill](https://imgur.com/a/ynnhL0u) and the [big silver cock in Dorking.](https://imgur.com/a/2JrllTt)
There are still major cycling events taking a similar route and the popularity of the route with ordinary cyclists still hasn’t waned in the nine plus years since.
So, these things really can have a positive impact, although we do still moan a bit when cycling events close the roads and we can’t get to Wickes, Lidl and Toolstation.
Edit: apparently by 2019 [the Box Hill route had become the most popular cycling climb in the world.](https://www.cyclingweekly.com/news/latest-news/box-hill-now-popular-climb-world-432453)
