Since the fall of the Assad regime, a sense of freedom has slowly been spreading across many sectors in Syria. Artists are slowly regaining their freedom of expression, with more and more stand-up shows being held, and comedians challenging taboos.

  1. Great development & hope the new leadership can learn to understand that people will want to keep these freedoms.

It should be mentioned that in a lot of countries (considered democratic and/or western) "freedom of speech" still has some limits, so that is something they could do as well, people don't have to have the green light to say ANYTHING they like about ANYONE, that usually isn't the best next step for situations like this, because they have been oppressed for so long there's a danger that people enjoying their new freedoms would cross a line 'for shock value' and things could easily turn sour because not everyone is used to this change yet.

But they should still be allowed to say MOST things & when they say something that you've all agreed is bad, just give them a fine or some short (but otherwise normal) jail time, that's how it works in some other countries too, you're mostly allowed to say anything but (for example) openly ridiculing royals or something might lead to a fine or a weekend in jail, repeat it and you get higher fine/more jailtime etc. Let future governments worry about full freedom of speech, for now go 95% and be normal in the 'punishment' for the remaining 5%.

  2. Be careful, Christians. Do not join with the muslims in these places. The moment a Mohammed joke is said by an ex muslim, the one they will are Christians. Christians do not mame Moe jokes, but they will get blamed by ISIS

  3. No bread on the table, sell your country to Israel, and change to a religious government, I wonder how long this will last..😅
