They need to have something that would make them a threat to China. I’m concerned there isn’t going to be much the world will be able to do if China chooses to encircle the island. Why can’t they just be left alone.

why build hypersonic missiles, when you can just stick cruise missiles in your submarines?
the entire hypersonic missile thing is a tech hype that probably becomes a nuke-only or trick-card type weapon of which only a few will be built
it just too theoretical and probably too pricey to build in large quantities, why would taiwan of all countries try to build a trick card when they don’t even have nuclear warheads to equip them with yet
unless that’s the the catch and taiwan is working on nukes that we don’t know about yet
Just give them 10 nukes. One for each major Chinese city. Problem over.

Is Three Gorges dam in range? That’s China’s Achilles heal. Hit that, and it’s game over, man. I imagine everyone who doesn’t like China in that neighborhood has some plan involving that.

China will come out and tell Taiwan to stop “playing with fire” and the need to “pursue peace” while Beijing continues to threaten Taiwan’s existence with military force while having thousands of missiles pointed towards them.
Now give them nuclear warheads and all that talk about annexation will done with

Why is this information being leaked? This can be provocation for China and give them a legitimate reason to attack.
