Trudeau has destroyed Canada.
While a lot of folks who voted for Justin last time say they won’t do it again…. They are often still hating PP. I think many will vote NDP instead of voting for the cons, and at the last moment many will even vote liberal anyway because of PP.
If the Cons had come up with a better candidate they could have cleaned house. But he is just intolerably smarmy.
Translated for Americans:
This would be like if Biden stayed in the race, was LESS popular, and bombed like 5 debates
“We’re setting you adrift, idiot”
> Some supporters –16% — want him to stay in power for as long as possible.
Who is benefiting from the current state of Canada?
Latest projection has Libs down to 6 seats, half of what’s needed for official party status. At 16%, they’re matching the percentage of the Kim Campbell disaster. No seats west of Montreal.
Modern liberal ideology has been a catastrophic failure everywhere. It blows my mind that this proven, obvious failure is still the mainstream ideology of Reddit
Yeah no shit. The entire west is barely beginning to enter its shift to the right. People are sick of what’s happening. Let the talkers talk. We’ll see what the west is like in 30 years after conservative leadership.
Could some Canadians help us understand what specific things have made him so unpopular?
Shouldn’t have messed with their guns any more than they already had.
We really have no good leadership options in Canada right now. It’s literally best of the worst rn.
Real question, why do Canadians hate Trudeau so much?
Everyone always hates me saying this but we VOTE OUT politicians. We don’t have term limits. Same thing happened with Harper. We just got fucking tired of the same person. Sure there are good arguments in policy to “hate JT” but personally, just tired of it. That said electing Pierre P is probably not good either but there is no compelling alternative option.
I can’t tell
If this is good or bad with this title
To put it in perspective. The Bloc, a single issue party that only cares about Quebec and wants to leave Canada, might be the official OPPOSITION!
Liberals are fucked. NDP been fucked.
This is so troll.
Prediction is that they’ll vote in a ton of dipshit fake conservatives who scream about “populist issues” but who have zero plans or policy ideas to address real concerns.
Those fucks will loot and grift and make shit worse for everyone, including their supporters, over the next few years.
Those same supporters will find some way to blame anybody but themselves and the party they voted for, and everything will just generally get worse.
Tale as old as time.
The Liberals have had one finger up their ass while giving themselves a pat on the back. Every few weeks they rotate hands. Opening the flood doors to immigration with a failing economy was never a good idea.
I honestly wish the Conservatives had picked a better leader because Poilievre is not that great of a choice. Regardless, him and the Conservatives are sure as hell going to call for an election to boot our pretty boy PM and his party out of office.
He’s holding on and not calling a vote, he doesn’t care if this destroy his party for DECADES. Many polls show him 30+ points behind the Conservative Party. That is literally surreal given Canadians history of being more of a liberal country. He really fucked the liberal party for years to come, but the longer he stays in power the longer it will take for the liberal party to get any sort of power again.
Would be lovely if our supposed left wing party were at all well positioned to capitalize on this, but clearly the party executive and Singh are hellbent on wringing out all the lingering fire and enthusiasm Layton inspired what now feels like a generation ago in favour of gentle pablum that simply does not resonate with voters.
Libs aren’t libs and never were
Will he finally step down now?
Well once Canadians see the shot show of a conservative presidency I’m sure by October we will see a different attitude.
The economy is in the dumps when it comes to cost of living expenses and the complete muppet of an economics minister told us that the economy is actually doing great and it’s just a vibe session.
A few weeks ago they offered a GST/HST break for the holiday season almost none of the items covered were essentials except for car seats and baby diapers. Most of it is drinks, restaurants and games. Essentially bread and circuses except not the bread.
Now to be fair most grocery items are not taxed through either but still nothing was done to bring down those prices. So groceries still cost the same.
They also announced a 250 dollar check to be given to all Canadians who paid any taxes for this year.
Both announced very recently and it’s clearly just electioneering (majority of Canadians see it as such).
The 250 checks were canceled so we never even got that.
Under Trudeau the government allowed large amounts of immigrants especially foreign students. The government in 2022 (in the middle of a housing crisis in the main population centres ) aimed for 1.5 million immigrants by 2025 and to allow 100k plus in a year.
Almost all the recent immigrants so far have gone to working at fast food and other menial jobs.
I know plenty of teenagers who can’t get traditional part time jobs because businesses hire recent immigrants willing to work for cheap.
We don’t have the infrastructure for the people we have now. It’s only been recently that they have changed their position once it was clear that they need to change course or else no more government.
Canada has gotten more expensive across the board and more and more people are struggling. Now the pandemic did happen and I don’t blame Trudeau for it all but the liberal party has done little to help.
The NDP has continually supported the liberals defending them from confidence motions. And only now have announced their intentions to force an election in January.
I find it suspicious since their party leader Jagmeet Singh only intends to do this on in January. And conveniently the election will be held in February just after he secures his pension for sitting in parliament.
Its beautiful to see lol let em disintegrate
Well, you morons voted him in. This is what you get for it.
Canada is finally standing up to this self-absorbed pig. Masquerading behind inclusion and acceptance only gets you so far when your country is circling the drain.
The guy who did blackface isn’t very smart? Shocking
It’s especially bad when you consider that it’s a fairly unlikeable angry guy that’s running against him, yet is still absolutely mopping the floor with Trudeau. Trudeau let his own huge ego get in the way of what was good for both Canada and for the Liberal Party, and now they are going to pay the price on election day.
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.
Barron’s dada is under fire!
have they tried trying harder?
