Princess Beatrice made a “significant” move as she stepped out this week to support her cousin, Prince William, according to reports.
The Princess of York was spotted at the Centrepoint Awards on Wednesday where the Prince of Wales, who has been patron of the charity since 2005, gave a speech and also awarded six young people who have transformed their lives after experiencing homelessness.
Beatrice, who is pregnant with her second child, was a vision in navy as she recycled one of her beloved dresses, the Zimmerman Espionage midi dress, which is currently out of stock online.
She previously wore the dress earlier this year in Dubai, as well as in New York in 2023. She also wore it in green for her engagement photos with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2019.
According to GB News, Beatrice’s appearance on Wednesday held quite a significance as it was a public show of support of William, who is embroiled in an ongoing rift with his brother, Prince Harry.
The Duke of Sussex was once said to be extremely close with Beatrice but she’s appeared to have been distancing herself, publicly at least, recently.
Earlier in the summer, Beatrice along with her sister, Princess Eugenie, attended a number of events alongside the royals, including Royal Ascot.
At the time, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said of the sisters’ visible support: “This was unquestionably a show of solidarity with the heir to the throne [Prince William], who is currently not on speaking terms with his errant brother.
“Until it is resolved, Beatrice and Eugenie, who conceivably could act as go-betweens, are undoubtedly supporting William.”
Beatrice was not the only one of William’s cousins who showed their support to the future King.
Lady Kitty Spencer, Lady Amelia Spencer and Lady Eliza Spencer, who are Princess Diana’s nieces, were also in attendance at the glitzy event.
The trio are the daughters of Earl Spencer and his first wife Victoria Aitken.
